Date Conventions
The date is calculated by the revolution of the planet around the sun. A single revolution of the planet indicates a year. The number of the years increases the origin of 0, also being the year of settlement on the planet. Any year before this event is referenced as a minus number.
Each year is divided into four seasons; Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The seasons indicate climate changes in the higher and lower hemispheres of the planet. Each Season contains 100 days divided into 4 segments of 25 days known as a Quarter.
Each quarter contains 5 weeks, with each week containing 5 days. The days of the week are "Monday", "Tuesday", "Wednesday", "Thursday" and "Friday".
Due to discrepancies, an additional two days are added to the end of each year to compensate. These two days are named "Saturday" and "Sunday", or collectively as "Yearend".
In comparison to traditional date recording, a single year on Neorthe is roughly 1.3 longer than a traditional year. Due to the long nature of years, it's common for the age of individuals to be decimalised. e.g. "The minimum age for admittance is 12.5 years."
